Nakheel hosts city’s largest Thai Festival at Souk Al Marfa

Souk Al Marfa at Deira Islands, the new waterfront souk and marketplace by Nakheel, is partnering up with the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Royal Thai Consulate, Thai
Trade Center and Tourism Authority of Thailand to host the city’s largest free-to-enter Thai Festival from 16 to 18 December.


Embark on an authentic Thai experience this weekend at Souk Al
Marfa’s waterfront daily from 2 pm to 10 pm and indulge in a plethora of Thai-inspired activities.


With a jam-packed agenda of activations, the festival is the perfect
opportunity for visitors to experience the Thai culture in a completely
new way, and savour authentic Thai food and products as well as
experience cultural performances, cooking demonstrations and carving
workshops. The festival will also include Muay Thai boxing exhibition
matches and an all-encompassing Thai Flea Market featuring an array of products across multiple categories.

More than 800 shops currently operate at Souk Al Marfa with
another 300 set to open in the next month. Souk Al Marfa’s operating
hours are 10 am to 10 pm Sunday to Wednesday, 2 pm to 12 midnight
on Friday and 10 am to 12 midnight Thursday and Saturday.

Souk Al Marfa celebrates UAE’s 50 th National Day with a 3-day festival

Souk Al Marfa at Deira Islands, the new
waterfront souk and marketplace by Nakheel, is marking the UAE’s
Golden Jubilee with a 3-day festival featuring an array of fun-filled
activities from 2 to 4 December.
Celebrate the 50 th National Day along Souk Al Marfa’s waterfront at
Village 4, from 2 pm to 10 pm and indulge in a plethora of live activations
during the long weekend.
The free-to-enter festival will feature an exclusive motor show with
300 super cars on display, stage shows, roaming entertainment, DJ
performances, remote control car shows and competitions, as well as
food trucks for everyone to enjoy. The 3-day extravaganza will also host
live cooking stations, Arabian traditional tents, live sketching and graphic
illustrations and a thrift market by ‘Dude Just Dude’, a homegrown
marketplace for creators and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Promising to deliver something for everyone, the festival will also
host a carpet exhibition and a souk wide sale featuring 50% off on all
groceries, household appliances and electronics across the shopping
destination.

Souk Al Marfa revs up for weekend epic supercars event

Iconic car show opens on Friday, 10 September with exclusive line-up of more than 150 supercars

Motor along to Souk Al Marfa at Deira Islands, the new waterfront souk and marketplace by Nakheel, and explore a diverse line-up of the most iconic supercars this Friday, 10 September from 4pm to 10pm.

Located at Village 4 in Souk Al Marfa, the free-to-enter show will feature more than 150 classic, vintage, sports and 4×4 cars.

In association with 21 of Dubai’s most prestigious car clubs, Souk Al Marfa’s supercars event will showcase powerful engines and feature unique designs, allowing car enthusiasts to relish in a variety of hardcore sport, classic and SUV models such as Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Toyota Supra, Nissan GT-R R35 Nissan Z, Camaro, Jeep, FJ Cruiser and more.

The exhilarating car show will also feature a competition, where all 150 supercars will be competing across multiple categories including: Best American Sport, Best American Saloon, Best Off-road, Best SUV, Best Classic, Best KDM, Best JDM (2 doors), Best JDM (4 doors), Best Engine, Best Wrapping, Best Lady-Driven, Best Airbrush, Best 4×4 truck, Best Paint / Body.  Visitors are expected to maintain social distancing protocols and wear a mask at all times.

New Waterfront Wholesale Souk Opens In Dubai

The first phase of a new waterfront marketplace has opened in Dubai’s Deira Islands.

Souk Al Marfa is an indoor shopping and trading hub that stretches 1.9 km along the shoreline.

It brings together businesses from local and international backgrounds in the form of small kiosks, retail stores, showrooms, and street food outlets.

As many as 400 stores across various categories are now open.

“Souk Al Marfa provides affordable growth opportunities to traders across the country, with the potential to ship and import directly to its shops and pavilions, and promises a diverse, large-scale shopping experience for customers,” said Omar Khoory, Chief Assets & Hospitality Officer at Nakheel.

“In this first phase, over 1,000 stores will open over the coming weeks, with a wider expansion in phase two towards the end of the year. When fully operational, it will be the UAE’s largest wholesale souk and waterfront destination,” added Khoory.

There are 4,000 onsite parking spots, while public transport is readily available with free RTA buses from Gold Souk, daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm until September 1, after which regular fares will apply.

Visitors can also enjoy free shuttle buses to and from key hotels in Deira.

Souk Al Marfa, the new waterfront souk and marketplace by Nakheel, opens its first phase, featuring 400 stores across various categories, on Wednesday, 18 August 2021.

Strategically located at Deira Islands, the fully air-conditioned souk is a centralised, one-stop-shop, stretching 1.9 kilometres along the waterfront. Dubai’s residents and visitors can shop for a huge range of items, including carpets, lights, spices, fashion, electronics and more, and explore the authentic Thai Market offering Thai food, handicraft, street food and clothing. Souk Al Marfa also features Mohideen supermarket and a range of fast-food restaurants.

It is also easily accessible from other parts of Dubai, Sharjah and the northern emirates.

Souk Al Marfa has 4,000 onsite parking spots, and public transport is readily available, with free RTA buses from Gold Souk daily from 6am to 11pm until 1 September, after which regular fares will apply.

Visitors can also enjoy free shuttle buses to and from key Deira hotels – Hyatt Regency, ibis Dubai, Pullman Creek, and Sheraton Creek – every two hours from 9.30 until 8.30 pm.
